Although we are a 1/4 of the way around the world it’s still your birthday!
Also, I hope your reading the blog or else this was a waste of time because I already said it in the message before!!!

I would sing happy birthday but you would not be able to hear me and someone has a copy write on it I think!!!! Although, everyone still sings it these days and I still sing it too, I’m just trying to make a point!!

Hard core motorcyclists! (yes, more comments from morgen)

Today we left Edinburgh and made it all the way to Manchester. We stopped in perth and Glasgow along the way. In Perth we went to the black watch museum and in Glasgow we went to the Harley Davidson store to get shirts for people. We also went into a Tesco express because i wanted to and so it spaced out the time in the car. During the hours in the car my mom and I watched The Big Band Theory!!

Royal mile to an American dream! (yet some more comments from morgen)

After a LONG day of walking on the royal mile and the street parallel to it, we landed in the hard rock café! Before the royal mile, we started the day with a nice FREE breakfast @ the hotel and after, we went to the Edinburgh castle where I was FREEZING!!!! But, while waiting in line for tickets, my dad bought the tickets online with the iPad and we ditched the line saving us a lot of time! Another thanks to John Webster. Because I was so cold I bought this AWESOME pair of plaid pants. Also, I went in this Bubble Pod thing which was like a giant hamster ball in water that you go in and your like a hamster. We also went into a Disney store which was kinda different from any other Disney store (my dad seemed to think it was the same as any other Disney store though). At the end of the royal mile we went into the parliament building of Scotland and saw the chamber. It has been a very long day and we have a day of driving ahead of us tomorrow!

Ps, my dad’s gonna try to post pictures sometime soon

Fish&chips, Vikings, and hamburgers – Oh my!!!! (more comments from morgen (& my father))

Today was great (besides all the driving!!)
We went to the Viking centre in York, climbed the stairs to the York tower (we didn’t go in, only climbed the 55 steps to the top of the hill it’s on), drove to Edinburgh, and we are currently sitting in the filling station restaurant. I had fish and chips which I have been eating EVERYDAY!! But, it’s very tasty!!! My dad had a DISGUSTING hamburger!! It wasn’t even ground beef, it was just “mystery” hamburger meat!!!!! Tomorrow, we are going to go to the Edinburgh castle and then walk the royal mile! Which for people who don’t know is a long street (that changes names a million (exaggeration) times) with tons (yet another exaggeration) of shops, pubs, restaurants, and churches.

Comment from my father;
A big thank you to my good friend John Webster, for without him and his UK based credit card we would not be able to use the iPad that we are posting with.
Someone in the UK would be able to make good money with a pay as you go iPad data plan that was truly that.

Comments from Miss Morgen

Hey, it’s morgen!!
It’s fun over here!!!
Stonehenge was fun and taking mr.Shippee’s advice to go to the Salisbury cathedral was a good idea! We saw the magna carta there and learned about Willam Longspee. We also saw a stone on the wall for someone @ the cathedral with the last name ridgeway.
We also went to Nottingham (as my dad expressed earlier) and saw the castle there and saw the statue of robin hood who is from Nottingham (the 2nd most photographed statue in England)
We might go to the Viking centre tomorrow before departing to Edinburgh. (York was the biggest trading hub for the Vikings in England)

-Morgen!

P.S.
-Side note from my mom; York is the most haunted town in England.

The imperial is over

Well the Imperial meeting is over and David Calvert won the Queens. We all went to the prize giving to collect the Cup for the Jr McKinnon, then it was off to dinner.

Today started the vacation phase of the trip. We left this morning for York and ended up detouring through Nottingham where we visited the castle.

Currently we are sitting in Plonkers wine bar in York having just enjoyed a nice meal.

Time to catch up

Wed was a busy day. We shot 4 ranges, the Queens 1st stage at 3,5&6 and the Conan Doyle at 900. I had a less than stellar day, as I dropped 4 points in the Queens 1 and did not make it through to the 2nd stage. The Conan Doyle went better. I lost 2 points and had one of the higher scores on my detail.

Thursday morning was the Prince of Wales, then off to pick up the family. Family in tow it was off to see Stonehenge and the Salisbury Cathedral. The historical sights in this country are amazing.

Friday morning was the Jr team Kolipore team match, for which I was the main wind coach. The highlight of the match was coaching one of my teammates to a possible possible, ie a perfect score.
After an afternoon of attempting to find a place to eat, it was back to the range to shoot in the Donaldson final.

Next came dinner and an amazing fireworks show to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the NRA/UK.

Today is the Queens final in the afternoon, then the prize giving.

Monday and Tuesday

Monday was a rather relaxing day, the shooting went rather well having shot the Corporation at 1000, and 2 others at 500 and 600. I came off the line in the Corp with a 47 and found out after the fact that the nickname for the Corporation is the Corpse, as it can kill your shoot if you get eaten up in the wind. This score combined with the other long range scores were good enough to allow me to qualify for the finals of the Donaldson.

Tuesday AM was the firing of the first stage of the St Georges. This was fired at 300Y, and only the top 300 move on to the second stage. I made it in at position 229.
In the afternoon we shot the Jr McKinnin team match at 900 and 1000, this effort proved to be victorious, and will allow us to go up on stage at the prize giving.
For those that don’t know I am traveling with the PPRT ( Prairie Province Rifle Team).

The family arrives tomorrow, so the fun factor should increase.

I have loads of pictures to publish and should have a photo gallery going soon.

Sunday’s Effort

Sunday started out great. I had an 8:30 detail at the 900 yard line on Stickledown range. I managed to pull off a 50 out of 50 with 6 V-Bulls, that was 3 V-Bulls off getting into a tie shoot, and only good enough for 52nd place in that match. Things went downhill from there, after correcting for a bad shot on the 600 yard line, I managed to loose 4 points there, and another 2 at the 500 later in the day.

After shooting was done for the day I had afternoon cocktails with the Old Guildfordians, then it was off to Canada house for another reception.
